What is the best value to use for WP_MEMORY_LIMIT?
- WordPress
The appropriate value for the WP_MEMORY_LIMIT constant in WordPress depends on various factors such as the size and complexity of your website, the number of plugins and themes installed, and the amount of available server resources.
By default, WordPress sets a memory limit of 40M (or 64M for multisite). However, for many websites, especially those with a significant number of plugins or a large amount of content, this may be insufficient.
Increasing the WP_MEMORY_LIMIT can help prevent memory-related errors and improve the performance and stability of your site.
Checking your page builder, theme, plugins requirements is a good starting point to find out the right value to use for WP_MEMORY_LIMIT.
If no indication is given, a common recommendation is to set the WP_MEMORY_LIMIT to at least 128M or higher.
Increasing WP_MEMORY_LIMIT needs to have a valid reason and not just packed up just because the server’s resources allow it.
